The entry blank above may be recreated for printing on Avery labels or other such format, as long as the created label includes students Name, Grade, School, Teacher and Franklin County. 

POSTER CONTEST RULES: 1. Entries will be accepted from any third grade student in Franklin County 2. Posters shall be the uniform size of 12 inches x 18 inches.  (Contact the District if you would like us to supply paper for your class).  3. Poster shall not be mounted on a background.  4. Posters are to be horizontal display only!  5. Posters may be pencil, paint, water color, crayon, cut paper, fabric, even 3-D. Be creative!  6. Do not roll or fold the posters.  7. Student entry forms are to be typed and complete (Please provide all of the requested information on the entry blank, it is important to have this information when the posters go to the state contest.)  8. No identification is to be on the front of the poster!  Attach the entry blank onto the lower left hand corner on the back side of the poster. The first place poster in the local judging will be entered in the State Poster Contest.

LIMERICK CONTEST RULES: 1. Limerick Contest is open to all Franklin County Students in 5th, 6th & 7th grades2.  Limericks must have a name or title.  3. Limericks shall be placed on 12x18 inch poster paper and arranged for horizontal display only (contact us if you would like us to supply paper for your class).  4. Student entry forms are to be typed and complete (Please provide all of the requested information on the entry blank, it is important to have this information when the limericks go to the state contest.) 5. No identification is to be on the front of the limerick!  Attach the entry blank onto the lower left hand corner on the back side of the limerick. 6. In the limerick, the basic unit contains three syllables, with heavy accent or beat on the third syllable; ta-ta-TUM.  Three such units are in the first, second and fifth lines; two in the third and fourth lines.  The heavy beat or accent must always fall on a syllable, which can properly be accented.  Limericks that receive first and second in the local judging will be entered in the State Limerick Contest.  

ESSAY CONTEST RULES: 1. Essay Contest is open to all Franklin County students in 5th, 6th, & 7th grades2. An essay shall not exceed five hundred (500) words and must be typed using a double-spaced format on 8 1/2 x 11 inch paper. 3. Do not roll or fold the essays.  4. Do not place essay in a binder, folder or report sleeve.  5. Student entry forms are to be typed and complete (please provide all requested information) then attach the entry form on the back of the last page of the essay in the lower left hand corner.  6. No identification is to be on the front of the essay! Attach or photocopy the entry blank onto the lower left hand corner on the back of the last page of the essay. Essays that receive first and second in the local judging will be entered in the State Essay Contest.
